Architecture

If you’re a connoisseur of architecture and craftsmanship, you might have already heard of the Krone. Its reputation precedes it, and not only thanks to its exquisite wine cellar.

Honest, down-to-earth cuisine like this is, unfortunately, becoming increasingly rare. The dishes are prepared with organic ingredients and are unwaveringly regional and wholesome.

Die Krone

A microcosm of people

Architect Bernardo Bader and the Werkraum Bregenzerwald’s artisans have gradually added to the house’s simple beauty. The “Werkraum” rooms, the bright Stube dining room, the modern, black structure in the garden and the sauna house are all designed to let you discover their interiors for yourself.

This is how a quaintly beautiful and long-established inn continues to write its own history. And how many hotels can claim to have a resident philosopher? The story of Bregenzerwald and the Krone has been told in many a book and, of course, by the owners themselves, Helene and Dietmar Nußbaumer.

A house held together by good ideas and warm people.

It’s no surprise that many of the architecture and culture enthusiasts who travel this way for the Schubertiade, an event celebrating the music of Franz Schubert, and the Festspiele performing arts festival, have found a home in the Krone.

Die Krone

Craftsmanship
at its finest

You don’t have to be an architect to be impressed by how well-designed and harmonious this hotel is. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like you’re being taken care of in an easy-going, effortless atmosphere.

Every square inch and every detail has been thought out; nothing has been left to chance. The ideas often come from Dietmar or Helene, whose passion lies in the kitchen, especially in patisserie. She follows in the footsteps of her mother, who brought the Krone its first Gault&Millau toque in 1986.

Beds you won’t want to leave.

Design you don’t just see – you feel.

There’s one more thing we’d like to mention – we’ve rarely found beds as comfortable as the ones at the Krone, and the view from them is far more enjoyable than anything you’ll find on TV. So switch off, settle in, and enjoy the view.
