Gasthaus Avrona
A tiny guesthouse with seven rooms and seven tables – a place where homemade everything sets the tone. Hikers come for the cheesecake, others stay and watch the night sky from the stargazing sofa.

Seven tables, seven rooms. This small guesthouse has its own special charm – just like the manager, Claudia Kläger, who adds her own flavour. And it is excellent.

Gasthaus Avrona
So close to heaven
During the day, hikers come to reward themselves with the cheesecake that just about everyone orders and to sit in the red chairs, admiring the view.
In the evening, there is a set 4-course menu, sparing guests the difficulty of choice. Claudia cooks everything herself: the sauces, the jams, the syrups and everything in between. After all, that’s what she enjoys most.
Interestingly, the guesthouse also serves as an internship location for the students of the Bergschule Avrona mountain school. They acquired this typical Engadine house in 2018, thereby preserving this heavenly place for refuelling and reflection.

People come to relax, take some time off from the world and simply read a book. But if boredom should strike and there is no film showing in the old barn that evening, they can sit down on the stargazing sofa to look up at the night skies. Sounds like heaven to us.

The location
In a forest clearing, the Gasthaus Avrona is accessible via hiking trails or by road from Tarasp.
