Architecture

The Schgaguler’s exterior is almost entirely glass and reflects what’s going on in nature – the interplay of light and the enormous natural shapes of the Dolomites. Peter Pichler’s architecture contrasts with the historic centre of Castelrotto, giving the original structure of the existing hotel a new look.

This way to a delightful dinner — regional, refined, and full of surprises
A little mountain adventure, please

Schgaguler

The Dolomites
at the door

As clear as the lines are, so too is the reference to “simplicity in the mountains”. Three gabled buildings line up next to each other and invite you into the cosy hotel, where the photography of Martin Schgaguler, one of the owner’s sons, continues the theme in an impressive way.

The mountains accompany you all the way into the rooms, which are beautifully designed down to the last detail – local woods and deep green loden, spaces flooded with light, understated elegance.

Returning to “base camp” is all the more rewarding after a day on the mountain. Relax in the golden evening sun on the terrace or by the fireplace in the atmospheric bar.

Schgaguler

A gentle dose of mountain adventure

If you are looking for a mountain adventure, the Schgaguler family are the perfect hosts. The programme here includes walking barefoot on the Sciliar mountain, via ferrata and guided ski tours.

Afterwards, returning to “base camp” is all the more rewarding. Relax in the golden evening sun on the terrace or by the fireplace in the atmospheric bar. Here, barman Peter mixes his spruce syrup into cocktails and mocktails that delight the international crowd.
