Pontisella Stampa
A restored 1848 house in Val Bregaglia, surrounded by the landscape that shaped the Giacometti family. A place where arts & culture meet simple rooms, crafted details and a garden made for slow days.

It could be a picture postcard, the way the Pontisella rests so naturally against the backdrop of the imposing Sciora group, taking in the beautiful view. It has been doing so for more than 175 years.

A home of beauty
Of course, the guests of the bed and breakfast also enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains, the stream and the quaint little village of Stampa. Especially in the enchanting garden, where linen flutters between daisies and herb beds. Where the slatted garden chairs offer the perfect spot to sip lemonade or coffee and relax with a good read.
Inside, the history of the patrician house is told by wooden doors that lead to nowhere, traces of floors long gone, colourful paintings adorning the ceilings and the open fire in the old kitchen, where guests sit down around the large wooden table to enjoy the first meal of the day.

Eggs for breakfast
Here, people talk about art and architecture and plan the day outdoors. And on your way out, you can thank the appropriate hen for the freshly boiled egg you had for breakfast.
Things are a little quieter in the historic rooms, which have not lost their authentic charm, in the beautiful corridors and in the library, which features treasures found by Daniel, the owner. The brass light fixture hangs gracefully over the sky-high entrance hall, waiting for new guests to step through the door and turn their admiring gazes upwards.

The location
The house, with its four guest rooms, is the most beautiful starting point to discover the culture and nature of Bergell.
