The Mendola funicular climbs steadily up the pass it’s named after, ascending sharply from the palm-dotted valley to the lofty heights where the elite once mingled at the grand hotel. A winding road, marked by tight turns, carves through the landscape beneath the rugged cliffs of Penegal mountain, gradually revealing the stark beauty of the alpine terrain. With each turn, spectacular vistas open up – across the lake, along the Strada del Vino wine road and out towards the distant Dolomite peaks.
